The Denver Temple

Emma had a goal to do Baptisms at the Temple as soon as she was 12 years old. So, we got her recommend (along with Jacob) and on March 29th, we made the trip to Denver to allow her that blessing. Her friend Amber came with us.
So, while Jacob, Emma and Jeff went into the Temple, the kids, Putty, and I wandered the grounds and eventually had a picnic lunch (there is a nice grassy area designed for that purpose directly below the Temple parking lot) with kite-flying and dog-chasing.
Here are the photo highlights (click on any photo for larger images):

The family photo is taken from my camera sitting in the grass about 10 yards away. Thus the quality is not up to hang-on-the-wall standards...I have lightened and sharpened and straightened it to get it as you see it.
I am quite thrilled to have it nonetheless.

Needless to say, I love these photos. I love the image of Christ holding His hands out to my children...very precious. The children loved being there.

while Joseph takes a turn with the kite.

How far aways is the temple from you? That is great that you all went so Emma and Jacob could go. We are really blessed out here to have several temples just minutes away.

That's really neat! What a neat day for your family! I remember doing baptisms with you and Jeff when you guys were engaged. That was really exciting for me!

I read this post a little while ago but didn't comment because the boys hate it when I'm on the computer--I guess cause that means I'm not focusing on them. I think that's great that you make a temple trip a big family event. I think it's great for kids to have a lot of time experiencing the spirit on the temple grounds, even before they recognize fully what it is. Good job doing that!!
